It looks like you're getting too involved. Although this is not classed as "gas work" the area that the expansion vessel is in is a sealed unit that effects the combustion.

Does all or of your radiators have thermostatic valves?

The pipe connecting the pressure gauge may be starting to get blocked.

You may end up smashing it to get it out :shock: As for the pipe it depends what it's made of, it would look better flush with the floor but it might crack in the places you don't want it too. Just take it steady.
