Hiya it's been a while but I'm hoping today is the day I final install this light switch. I would be grateful if someone could just look over what I'm planning to do before I go ahead. I've attached a photo. I have a brass screw that I will drill into the main box for the earth.

Brilliant, thank you. I don't suppose you have any advise as to how I can clean the mechanism up better? I've used a old toothbrush and contact cleaner but there are a few tricky areas I can't get to. Is there any kind of solution I could drop it in to clean it up?

Sorry but does that mean to drill a hole in the base and attach a screw? Or would it need to go in the faceplate?
