    How do I remove a brass screw thats worn away?

    if its a butt hinge on a door then i would lever the hinge off the frame , its a common problem i face when snagging ( someones got to do it :roll: ) , use a flat screwdriver ( or similar) but be careful not to damage the frame ...crude but effective and it will save ya the cost of a removal bit :D

    sorry to disagree but , fit the doors first , the joiner should leave 5/8 or 3/4 inch to allow for the carpet ( or work to the old carpet) that is the proceedure in a new build house :D

    whenever im rusty on a subject on carpentry or joinery or am unsure on a technique i go back and look at my old college books .... what i suggest to you is to buy a trade learning book that they use to teach apprentices ...or a building book that i learned from when doing my btec qualification...

    hi , ive got a dw 712 and i think its a great compromise , will cut 12 x3 joists and is lightweight , which is important for me as i use it for site work , highly recommended :D

    sounds like you need to use formica , you might be able to buy smaller sizes but ive always bought them in 2400 by 1200 mm , expensive as well :shock:

    are the thresholds external or are they internal between rooms ( as in older style houses) if external , use hardwood , if internal use mdf ( or real timber) mdf is actually hardwearing and will take knocks better than timber,( high heels for example) :lol:
