Got on to builder and he got the sparks round today - turned out to be a dead 'stat.

Time for me to look a bit foolish. When he installed it, there was a pull switch which he said never had to be used. Probably because it 'never had to be used', it slipped my mind to check it - as it seems one of my house sharers pulled it.

I had a sparks(&plumber) run power to a bathroom in a new build and install a shower. Its worked fine but 2 weeks later its not getting any power. I've checked the fusebox and all none of the switches were tripped. Is there anything else I can check before calling a sparks back in...

@RF Lighting: No testing gear available at the moment. @Nige F: Its a new house so the cylinder/immersion shouldbe new...then again maybe not. I'm in Ireland (West of). Thanks Lads. Will get the builders back in and see what they come back with.

I just moved into a new house. I switched on the immersion and left it for a while to heat the water for a bath. However the water never heated up. THis has got me a bit worried as I assumed that the tank couldnt possibly be empty? If it is chances are I've bodged the immersion right...
