I think my aerial might be knackered - thoughts?

Ok will have a look in the morning, hadn't thought about that just assumed even if it was in a totally wrong position it would at least pick up something.

I think my aerial might be knackered - thoughts?

I have recently moved into a new house. None of the rooms had aerial sockets in but they where cleary in there at some point but it was a bit of a bodge job, you can see little bits of coaxial cable running through the corners of some of the windows. There is also an aerial on the top of the...

Painting Facias, Barge boards & Soffits

I would just replace it with UPVC if I where you, otherwise you will be in the same situation in three to four years time wishing you had replaced it! Got to be worth getting a quote at the very least...

    Achieving neat silicone/beading lines

I spent years putting up UPVC fascia and soffits so I don't have any problems. Few tips wet your finger before you rub it along the bead. If while using the gun you get a gap just ignore it and come back, don't stop and start again. Make sure you've cut enough off the end of the noozle...

    Weathshield Exterior Gloss

I have a job coming up and it involves painting some window frames in a dark torquoise colour. The customer wants Weathershield Exterior Gloss, will they do a dark torquoise colour? Is it just a case of picking the colour from a sheet and getting it mixed up or can they only do certain...

Decorators used different brand of paint ?????

You really should have brought up the problem with them as soon as you saw they where using Johnstones rather than Dulux. It's also a little bit foolish to use tester pots on card rather than the wals... If the quote says they would use Dulux paint I would ring the decorators up explain...

    What make of paintbrush/rollers

You can't really go wrong with Harris brushes and rollers IMO, they are the best value for money brushes out there, you can get better if you're willing to pay but for the majority they can't be beaten...

    Cleaning brushes

I can't stand cleaning brushes and the smell from my brush mate gave me headaches for hours after opening the things, was like shooting a load of poppers. Even worse trying to get a brush out on a hangover. I now have my brushes suspended in white spirit and then try to clean them out with...

    Painting a plastic front door.

Thanks for the tips, should I not bother with the plastic primer? How much thinning down will the gloss need 10%?

    Painting a plastic front door.

I have been asked to do a job for someone who has a white plastic front door which has been painted red (for some strange reason every other one in the close has been painted red) and he wants it painted white. Obviously a bit of a bizzare one so thought I'd post here, I've read plenty of...
