Slow leaking Push Button Toilet Problem?

splits are in the thin plastic tube which delivers water to bottom of systern to cut noise of splashing. It has no effect on your problem. The meter fitting has probably introduced some grit which has been carried to valve so as previous reply said take inlet valve apart by removing blue nut...

Air trapped in pipework heating. Can't move it

Are you sure water is getting into the system from the headed tank. Suppy pipe may be blocked. Tie up the ballcock, note the water level in header tank, drain off a bucketful at the drawoff point and check that water level in header tank has gone down. If not feed is blocked.

Can you put a hot water cyl. in the loft

Previous owner of my house put cylinder in loft for same reason. I've had no problem for 25+ years. Bottom of CWS tank needs to be above top of cylinder and cylinder located over or close to a loadbearing wall as previous respondent said/inferred. Only issue would be need to have good...

Which waste pipe route is best?

Possible to switch position of basin and towel rail? It might be easier to run the flow and return across under the floor than either of your stated options.

Poor hot water flow from taps

Could be air in the pipes. Probably in the hot water pipe running horizontally across the loft. How far is it from where it tees off the vent pipe until it drops down to the the ground floor? Is there any fall from the tee towards the drop down? You could try connecting the cold mains...

Poor hot water flow from taps

Where is your bathroom? Groundfloor or first floor? Is the problem at your kitchen sink, bath or washhand basin or all of them. I would agree with JohnD that the problem is likely to be with your taps being of the high pressure variety. The effective head is the vertical distance from the...

    Replacing kitchen sink drain basket

That six sided grey thing in your photo is the backnut which holds the waste in the sink. If you have a big wrench/spanner (Stilson wrench) this should unscrew and allow you to remove the waste. If it is siezed up you could split it by cutting up the middle from below with a hacksaw being...

SYMPTOM - H/W but no CH

Hi Deagle. When on h/w only what voltage have you got on white? I seem to have the same problem as you have with the live readings the same as you report with the exception that on H/W only the white is 140 volts. All other live readings are 230 volts as expected.

Toilet water flush not strong enough..

Just a thought. perhaps if this has not been used for a long time you might have got some sort of buildup of slime in the internal waterways which reduces flow. Perhaps if you put some drain cleaner in the cistern and flush that through it might clear out any buildup. What sort of...

I have de-sludged and drained down, and still have cold rads

Try turning off all your radiators except one and check if it gets hot especially at the bottom. If not you have sludged up pipe(s) which the desludger you mentioned didn't fix because it needs to flow to work. Do this with each radiator in turn. If each radiator get hot quickly when...

basin pressure fine, bath very low

Taps are probably designed for mains pressure while your hot and cold pressure is controlled bt the head given by your cold water supply tank usually in roofspace. If so you need low pressure bath taps. Other possibilities are size of pipework to bath taps. Should be 22mm for tankfed system...
