    Whats wrong with this system?

[You don't need a bypass as long as there is a rad or towel rail on lockshield valves.] Don't know where this idea comes from but it is compulsory to fit auto bypass valve to oil boilers, and not that I am gr i would expect the same to apply to gas.

Connecting a boiler to a buffer with UFH

Nothings ever straight forward is it. Does your ufh have a thermostatic mixing valve, I am only asking because i cant see any other reason for the temp to be set so low. The boiler is cycling because the coil cant transfer the heat fast enough If the temperature is left so low then you...

Connecting a boiler to a buffer with UFH

Return temperature will be in your boiler manual but most return 55 deg thats 20 deg below your flow temp, thats assuming its a condensing boiler but if not it should be 10 deg temperature difference The ufh flow normally comes of that low because at that level it will be the correct temp...

Connecting a boiler to a buffer with UFH

taking water directly from the bottom of the cylinder is not a good idea as it would be too cold to return to the boiler, another way to do it which would be perfect for you is to use a thermostatic mixing valve so you can get the required return temp. DPS at www.heatweb.com has a good diagram...

    Wall hung toilet and plasterboard

I installed 2 of these last year, not without problems. ply is the best option but I would also say make sure you fix the frame back to the brickwork and not the timber frame, to prevent it from flexing.

Connecting a boiler to a buffer with UFH

I always like to connect the boiler up direct as it prevents the boiler cycling and also keeps it in condensing mode, but these connections need to be carefully positioned for correct flow and return temp!

    underfloor heating, sufficient?

Sounds like your friends have an envy problem, are they speaking from experiance? None of the comments are correct in my oppinion and as for efficiency a study was carried out recently that proved ufh was more efficient than rads. It is possible that with the two different floor structures you...

Sounds like a waste of a good boiler and also waste of fuel to me, I would install a thermal store and make good use of it.

    Greenstar Camray 18/25

absolutely not, if a mid position valve is used it must be backed up by a 2 port valve. Go to www.heatraesadia.com and look at megaflo installation instructions.

Hot water storage for a combi boiler

The easiest way to use a combi is to leave one tap remaining on the boiler . I would recommend a thermal store cylinder ( Gledhill torrent RE is one of the cheeper ones ) Which as long as your mains water pressure is ok will give you mains pressure hot water

    Greenstar Camray 18/25

sorry to see you have been had like this but i wouldnt part with another penny. this installation contrevines many G3 unvented cylinder regs, as well as the comment about needing a 2 port valve I cant see a tun dish on the discharge pipe. Insulation is a problem, no pipes are insulated but more...
