    Worcester Heatslave 20-25 - misbehaving!

Well that means I was right. :) Keen diyer trying to save money and wanting to tackle (perhaps) all parts of burner. :) It is a bit nippy weather to be doing without your boiler. Is your service company/engineer all that expensive? The solenoid is a very easy job to replace and absolutely no...

Immigrant Truck Deaths - Could Driver Be Innocent?

Wouldn't surprise me about the Irish government and police. Been that way with ignoring terrorists in the past. Seems they don’t like ‘open borders’ when it comes to justice.

    Worcester Heatslave 20-25 - misbehaving!

If you reread the original post, you will note the OP said their boiler “this week” had decided to give trouble. So not a Saturday evening sudden boiler breakdown then. (Although not sure how anyone, unless an oil engineer, can source a new solenoid, or other boiler part if it had been on a...

    Swapping a same sized rad.

If the old rad tails are slightly unusual I would remove them and use them as they match the original valves. If they are in good condition and easily removed is another reason to reuse them

    2 port valve zones piping

The 2 zones can share a return. Just have to be careful how you pipe it. You only do one tee off and also consider any pipes that heat could convect through. In other words, you don’t tee off to rads a few times or that part of circuit will loop through when the other circuit is working. Hope...

    Worcester Heatslave 20-25 - misbehaving!

:) Not really Oilhead. I was in great form at 3.09am, although was just about to sleep. I did actually give the OP confirmation of the first answer given and even other possibilities. My concerns is the OP appears to be doing all the boiler work themselves, judging by the wording of the post. My...

    Worcester Heatslave 20-25 - misbehaving!

Usually straightforward process to fix the fault. Clearly a burner fault and first suspect is as above post, by far the most likely. Control box also can do similar. Burner motor on that burner can cause lockout problems, but unlikely in your issue. Begs the question, - why are you trying to...

    Rayburn plumbing issues

It is really a job for an expert in solid fuel heating systems to at least look at your system to see what is required. No chance of getting safe and correct information from anyone without it being seen. Your system could be all wrong or not done by a heating installer. I am a heating installer...

    How lucky am i

If you made contact the next email will say some of that fortune has been left to you and all is required of you is to give your full bank details and passwords and PIN numbers. Or send a few 10s of thousands in Sterling for the Lawyer to send you the money. :)

    Mira Excel Temperature not hot

If shower valve hadn’t been tampered with before it began to give trouble, then maybe the cartridge is faulty. But I would check flow is getting to shower from both the hot and cold properly. Make sure no valves are only part open (red handled gate valves are notorious for seizing) and no debris...

Power flush how much cost and is it worth it?

Can cost £400 - £500 typically for a full power flush, but certainly wouldn’t be much less than £200 - £300. Depends on what is done. Chemicals for flushing and later inhibitor needed added when system filling up. A magnetic filter fitted to system would collect any dirt in suspension after...

    Mira Excel Temperature not hot

The Mira Excel cartridge seem to be very reliable, so hopefully you won’t need to replace it as it is fairly costly. The filters are a common problem to be blocked if not cleaned every few years. I repaired same valve and after cleaning blocked filters the customer later told me the flow rates...

    Corbyn heckler suspended

Oh that’s a good point about Hong Kong! I know Corbyn is now busy in election mode, but he will have an opinion on the situation in Hong Kong and I hope he will share it with the British people.

    Corbyn heckler suspended

I can’t prove on a forum that I don’t support various things. Not sure how it would be possible, but you first.

    Anyone familiar with this?

Never seen that before! Wonder is it some sort of neutraliser for all heat outputs to connect to?

Ongoing HRM Wallstar lockout problem - oil boiler

Solenoid as said can have same symptoms. Control box also. But the burner Motor also can cause intermittent lockouts. Maybe your engineer is struggling with it all. The air inlet should have been an easy test

    Corbyn heckler suspended

Thank goodness the sensible folk have come back into the forum. I was getting a left wing whipping from the Corbyn sympathisers until help arrived! I was nearly getting converted to befriending terrorists so I could become untouchable. :)
