    Flue for Little Wenlock Classic.

Just for the record, the local Aga shop recommends 5" flue liner and the Aga factory says the liner must be not less than 6".

    Flue for Little Wenlock Classic.

Hi, I've pretty much decided on a Little Wenlock Classic multifuel stove (probably just burning anthracite) in our large living room. The flue outlet on the stove is 5" but i've been finding info suggesting the use of a 6" flue liner is either necessary or compulsory. The local Aga supplier...

    Two cables in one chase?

Hi, Is it permissible to run a phone cable in the same wall chase as a wall lamp cable?. I was thinking of interference on the phone line.

    Connecting TV set, VCR/DVD,STB.

Hi, I have an elderly Panasonic tv set, a fairly new Humax stb and a not too old Toshiba DVD/VCR. I've read all the manuals several times but still can't figure out how to connect them up so they work properly. The problem is that I can't work out how to connect all three together. Stb...

    Order of work for plasterer.

Nope, cavity brick, bone dry as I spent a lot of time cleaning out the cavities, some parts of which were filled up to 12" above DPC. I suspect this guy is basically a joiner who can do some skimming, as well as being a bit of a chancer. I've been working on this renovation/extension project...

    Order of work for plasterer.

Sorry, sensory overload after listening to endless plasterers jargon the last couple of days!. Just skimming for the plasterboards in the extension. I'll phone the electrician when the New Year "festivities" are over, the metal back boxes are all in and wire coiled in them in the original brick...

    Order of work for plasterer.

Hi, I've almost finished strapping and sheeting in an extension. I've left the socket cables behind and the light fitting wires pulled through as the sparky asked for. I intend to get the rooms bonded and skimmed, does the sparky have to fit the back boxes now or after the plasterer is...

    Wiring to a shed.

Hi, I'm thinking of relocating our washing machine and tumble dryer to a shed in the garden. What type of cable would be needed to be laid underground and would it need to be in conduit of some kind?. A sparky would be wiring up, I'd just like to know the requirements.

Thanks for the replies guys. It's the thermal cut out on the saw (Dewalt D27400). Sometimes starts, the revs rise , then trips. I'll check out your suggestions in the morning, not sure about brushes, I think theres a capacitor.

    Joint in roughcast

Hi, I forgot to take off a strip of old roughcast on the front of the original house when the brickies were roughcasting the new extension. (did it on the back ok.) They're working away now for quite a while, would it make sense for me to cut back a couple of inches of the old stuff to give a...

Hi, I want to fit a pair of these to a walk-in closet and see from the pic there is an upright where they come together. It's over 90 miles to nearest Wickes from here and I'd like to get the partition finished this weekend, can anyone help with the width measurement of the opening I'll...
