Bi-fold door question - is this possible

Hi. We’re looking to install bi-fold doors at the back of our house and have a what I think is a reasonable requirement, but been told by a supplier that it would not be possible. As much as we’d like the doors to go across the whole of the back wall, size constraints mean that our kitchen...

Loft extension alongside other renovations – would I save money doing both?

C’mon @chappers, that’s not what I want to hear! Suppose what I was thinking is that as part of the renovations that are already planned, we’d be doing some of the jobs that the loft would benefit from. For example pulling the central heating around (combi making the pipework in the loft...

Loft extension alongside other renovations – would I save money doing both?

20%? when can you start? ;) 10 to 20% sounds like it might be becoming an option. We’re going to start to get some quotes in over the next few weeks and hope to have the work done in the spring / early summer. Our son is coming home from Uni this coming year and (since we have two younger...

Loft extension alongside other renovations – would I save money doing both?

Very quick finger in the wind question… We live in a small 3 bed 1930s mid-terraced house and we’re about to start renovating by… Ground floor… knocking some walls down removing a single chimney breast (throughout both floors) new kitchen reposition boiler and replacing it with a combi...

Retrofitting underfloor heating - Good or bad move?

1930s three bedroom, 1 bathroom right now. No on-suite or any thing fancy like that. I was going by various websites saying that combis could cater for up to 2 bathrooms. At the end of the day if that's not possible and we do go in to the loft, we can always throw an electric shower up there.

Retrofitting underfloor heating - Good or bad move?

Right now we have an old Ideal Classic which is well due for renewal. We want to replace it with a combi so we don't run out of hot water as the kids get older - it's already becoming a problem. So, as far as boilers are concerned, I'm open minded. Until today I'd never heard of Intergas, so...

Retrofitting underfloor heating - Good or bad move?

Thanks for the responses so far, they've been helpful. I am aware of the build costs, but considering the work that will be done regardless of the heating, I saw this as an opportunity that should be at least considered. I have read about UFH and changed my mind more times than I can remember...

Recommendations for flooring that won't fade in sunlight.

Hi. We're going to be installing bi-fold doors and a large roof window in our extension, so it's going to let in a lot of light. The flooring that we put down is going to run throughout the downstairs of our house and potentially lie on top of under floor heating. I'm looking for some...

Retrofitting underfloor heating - Good or bad move?

Hi. (First post, so go easy on me ;)). We live in a 1930's terraced house and are planning to do some major renovations to our downstairs in the spring. I've had at the back of my mind installing wet UFH for some time (leaving the radiators upstairs), but have a few complications that I'd...
