Radiators coming on when they shouldnt?

Hi all. I recently had a new programmer fitted to my system (Drayton LP722) and it worked perfectly for months, independently running the hot water and the central heating separately from each other. On Christmas day (of all days) for some reason the radiators turned on when they shouldn't...

    Extractor fan cover question.............?

Thanks all. It is mounted horizontally (facing the ground) on the soffit. The extractor was very expensive so I only want to replace this small part if possible........

    Extractor fan cover question.............?

I have an extractor fan in my bathroom connected to some tubing ending with one of the 'covers' as pictured below in the soffit of my roof. In the winter especially, when the wind blows, a cold breeze blows in to the shower room. Is there a product I can fit outside instead of the item...

    Wood filler showing through varnish

I spent another 3 hours on this today and eventually got to using my new pot of dark filler. I used the masking tape as advised and when I peeled it back I could not believe how well it had come out. Perfect lines. Of course I have yet to stain it but hopefully it will be a better match...

    Wood filler showing through varnish

So if I rub it right back down again I can try getting a darker filler and trying again. I will have to take a few mm off that lot I suppose so am a bit worried it wont be quite even all over. Before the varnish went on it wasnt a bad match at all.

    Wood filler showing through varnish

Hi all, Please see attached photo's. I have filled in the gaps between the wood on the window seal and then varnished using Ronseal varnish. As you can see it is very visible and looks awful. I stopped once I realised as I thought it was pointless doing the whole seal if it is all going to...

I cant get a whole stem but will grab some more pods on the way past next time and just leave them to dry and see what happens. Is it worth sowing them this year in prep for next year at all?

    Lupin Seeds

Hi all, At my workplace there are several lupin plants which have flowered and had now formed the seed pods. Do you HAVE to wait until they are dried out before you can pick the pods? The problem is other people are taking them before they are really dried so unless I want to miss out on all...

3 gang or 2 gang sockets?

Ah OK, the last bit about your TV puts it in to perspective. I'm just worrying that I am going to be getting through alot of 13amp fuses thats all! I just assumed you could overload a 2g socket without tripping the switch in the CU whereas with this the fuse would just blow which could be...

3 gang or 2 gang sockets?

Thanks for that link. I may scale back my plans for 9 sockets though I am still worried that I could overload a socket. I know most items use very little electric but obviously things like the dyson will be plugged in every now and then and I am worried I am going to end up being scared to plug...

3 gang or 2 gang sockets?

Thanks all for posts. I am a bit concerned that this in built fuse is going to cause me problems. Does anybody have experience with them? I assumed that if I overload a 3g socket it would blow the in built 13amp fuse, but then again I also assumed that if I overloaded a standard 2g socket it...
