So...I've removed the old fireplace cladding and am left with an odd shaped chimney. There is a heat exchanger in the fireplace I think which I've not removed yet ( the pipes are cut at the ceiling so its not functional). Were looking to get an inset stove put in (by a qualified HETAS engineer)...
