    Not bothered about spending money, just want to make sure I am spending on the right part/engineer. Happy to pay the £170 to BG if they fix it, even better if they would discount it for me signing up for HomeCare. I don't mind paying for good service and a true fix.

    Thanks PaultheGas - Not as yet, signed up a week ago (cannot believe my luck) Paperwork has not even arrived as yet .. Spiders is an interesting one as there were quite a few (dead ones!) behind the inner plate. Is removal of the venturi a safe thing to do for a Novice not wanting to play with Gas?
