most vauxhalls have the dye put in the system at birth think that started around 2003 though The thing is that the dye dosent allways leak out with the gas + the dye can get washed off if the condenser leaks at the front of the car with spray off the road

any 1 who says that your air con needs topping up every year needs a kick in the teeth look for a vehicle Ac specialist that can pressure test your system with nitrogen first NOT QUICK SWICK (this shouldent cost too much) to find the leak zafiras are prone for the condenser leaking behind...

a vacuum leak test will not pick up on small leaks as it is only vacuumed to -15 psi atmosphere pressure when the system is pressure tested it is well over 15 psi this makes leak finding easy and saves gas from being wasted And not all air con systems leak gas 95% of vehicles that do lose gas...

well it looks like qwick swick have finally employed a real pro at 1 of their shoppies A vacuum leak check is not very reliable unless the car was full of gas before its serviced And if it needs gas its got a leak

no they dont leak check they pull a vacuum of minus 15 psi if the system holds this for a few minutes they then fill it up and smile saying your system is fine which is about as much use as mud flaps on a tortoise take your car to a proper air con specialist and get it pressure tested with nitrogen

yep could be the compressor coil or the relay mabe a bad earth check for 12volt supply at compressor when it stops working with a 12 volt test light if it lights up its the coil (breakers yard £40- £100 for 2nd hnd compressor) swap the relay with another 1 the same

had a couple of firms round to give us a quote for double glazing 1 was selling windows with argon between the glass which had a 20mm gap and the frames had 5 chambers with steel reinforcement sales man also said glass & frames was gauranteed for 10 year. O and every one else sold rubbish...
