    blocked radiator

I know this has kind of been done to death as part of a system flush as this is all i find googling the web but i'd like some advice/opinion on what good methods there are for flushing an individual radiator. Just some background: I've flushed my system and after reintroducing the water supply...

    1 inch danfoss trv thread

http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-replace-a-damaged-radiator-valve Was quicker than I thought. There's a small part given to changing the rad tail but it's enough. I get what you meant now HERTSDRAINAGE2010. Now I just need to get that tail off. Cheers

Thanks Axel. I was thinking I may need to change the tail but I really couldn't see how they come off. I'll investigate further with some how to searches.

    1 inch danfoss trv thread

The thread on the trv was too small to fit the nut on the radiator tail. I bought the 15mm trv from screwfix but the pack doesn't come with any sort of adaptor that enlarges the thread to fit the radiator.

    1 inch danfoss trv thread

I need to replace 4 trv around my property. I've been to screwfix but the largest I could find was a 15mm trv. The threading at the rad side was nowhere near wide enough. I measured across the not and got 1inch. Can somebody advise where I can get one of these as i don't see them on danfoss'...

    C/H doesn't work unless H/W is on.

Not to purposely mess with your answer Kevplumb but I have "gravity feed to the HW cylinder and pumped CH" so a bit of both no and yes by all accounts. :D Having done some more reading on these honeywell 2 port motor valves I'm satisfied that things are working as they should.

    C/H doesn't work unless H/W is on.

Thanks Agile. Does that mean then, going back to my original question, that my ch/hw system is working as it should?

    C/H doesn't work unless H/W is on.

Actually. There is definitely a box with a black leccy wire wire going into it like in the bottom pick but it defo doesn't have a three pipe junction coming out of it. What is the reason behind the question?

    C/H doesn't work unless H/W is on.

and if i'm honest (and i'm in the boiler room daily) I can't say i've seen the top pic either.

Wish I were t home. Definitely not the bottom one.

    C/H doesn't work unless H/W is on.

Been having a discussion with a colleague and have come to the conclusion that my CH/HW system must be faulty. For years I've not been able to set my CH to come on separately from my HW. The Programmer has the function of setting individual times for both but the CH will only come on so long as...

re. money saving diy system flush

Oh.. Wish me luck. As an aside, and probably worthy of another thread all together, I will be changing 4 of my TRV's as they've been in place since the property was built 26 years ago. 2 are stuck open and 2 stuck shut. Gently tapping to free up the springs in these stopped working...

re. money saving diy system flush

Thanks JohnD. I was trying to avoid going up into the loft but after conversation with my colleague here at work it seems like i'll have to. I think i'll follow your advice here. I had a rad moved due to extending the room two years ago (not by me) and the system was flushed then. I changed...

    work bench advice

also seems to imply that a 'cheap as chips' work bench is as good as an expensive one which is why i'm after reasons to shell out, or not the extra cash.

    work bench advice

After a good work bench. There are loads out there ranging from cheap as chips to over a 1er. My usage will be for work around the house and for work on my car (vice grip etc). Reasons for/against and and links would be much appreciated. Thanks

    water pressure drop

Hi all. I've got a conventional boiler set up and was recently was told that with this type of boiler the upstairs taps shouldn't go cold when the hot water is also turned on downstairs. This doesn't hold true in my house. Can some informed soul tell me if this should happen or not and if...
