How to remove silicone from cultured marble

Thanks. I got most of the marks off at weekend, but there was one stubborn patch. Unfortunately I chose the wrong product to tackle it and it looks like I've taken the colour out of the marble - you can see where the product has run down  I've just been reading that it can be...

How to remove silicone from cultured marble

We have just had a cultured marble fireplace fitted and have noticed that silicone is still present in parts. Can anyone tell me what would be the safest product to use to remove please without scratching or staining?

Marks on inside of double glazing

Thank you both for your input. It looks like we'll have to bite the bullet and replace the unit then. Cheers

Marks on inside of double glazing

I can't understand why marks appear on the inside though. The marks are there now and its a sunny but windy day.

Marks on inside of double glazing

Yes it looks that way. OH priced up a sealed unit last week, just debating whether to replace the whole window so I can get to clean it myself - depends on the cost. I can't understand why the marks are intermittent. If the seal had broken I would think there would be marks there all the...

Marks on inside of double glazing

The windows are about 10 years old, and don't have vents fitted. The other windows are fine, it's just the smallest bedroom which has the problem at the moment.

Marks on inside of double glazing

Marks keep appearing on the inside of the double glazed unit of one of the bedroom windows. To me, the marks look like an impression a textured cloth would leave. It seemed to appear when we had the cold spell, but it is not condensation. Sometimes the window is completely clear. It is a...

Oh dear  I'll have a look around and see if I can pick one up online. If it's more than a tenner I'll not bother  Thanks rocks

    Hotpoint Aquarius Dispenser Drawer

Can anyone suggest a way to thoroughly clean the dispenser drawer of a washing machine please? My washer is in continual use and I only clean the drawer thoroughly about once a month - if I remember  At the moment it feels rough as if there is a build up of powder, but nothing I have...

Condensation problems after changing heating system

Windows are made of upvc and they don't have trickle vents. There is an option to lock the window at a certain point which allows about 1cm of ventiliation - I call it 'fresh air mode' Do windows usually have trickle vents as standard?

Condensation problems after changing heating system

Prior to us changing to gas central heating we had extra insulation put into the loft. Thinking along the lines of adequate ventilation, could this be another reason why we have condensation? Can anyone recommend a decent reasonably priced de-humidifier?

Condensation problems after changing heating system

I find the smallest bedroom (with 1 large youth in it!) is the worst for condensation. I've had the bedroom windows open all day today seeing as I'm on holiday from work. We do use extractor fans in the bathroom and kitchen, but as there are 4 of us in the house, there is usually a towel...

Condensation problems after changing heating system

Thanks. I don't think the 'stop breathing' suggestion is an option at the moment  I've got a lot of living to do yet  I'll definately price up a de-humidifier; meanwhile I'll open the windows whenever the sun is shining and we think it's warmer than it actually is  Cheers

Condensation problems after changing heating system

We have recently changed over to gas central heating after 20+ years of using solid fuel. During this cold spell I have noticed that first thing in the morning two of the bedroom windows are completely covered in condensation. This never happened with solid fuel. The fire would lay dormant...

    Cutting pipes with a wraparound?

    Cutting pipes with a wraparound?

I've since found out that they are actually home-made using rubber or tarpaulin for example, and the pipes cut at required angle using oxyacetylene

    Cutting pipes with a wraparound?

For a welder to be able to cut piping at an angle I believe there is an aid called a 'wraparound' which is available in different sizes. Can anyone tell me where I would buy such a thing, or is it something that a tradesman would make himself?

    Hotpoint Extra WMA34 Washer

My washer has suddenly developed a very loud buzzing / droning noise as soon as a program starts. This stops as soon as water starts coming in, but continues at regular intervals throughout the cycle. Any ideas anyone? :? Edit: Just noticed this post:-...
