Sorry to slide in on the side guys. Im in the throws of doing a loft conversion myself on a 1948's bungalow from scratch. I have been involved in several when I used to have my own electrical business, so I drained my builder freinds for the latest rules and reg for free. But it seems regs have...

Removing an old Crittal window frame

The bottom frame has a drain slot. I wondered what I would need to cover them. I'll pop into where I got the frames and see if they have any. I also noticed a drain slot in the inner frame where the windo sits. I was impressed with the plastic 'off-sets' which clip into the inner frame...

Removing an old Crittal window frame

I have refitted the window but have since read your reply. I wish I knew you earlier. The bottom of the frame is sitting on the sill but the top of the stone sill is angled about 40 degrees. I obviously wont be able to use the extenders you refer to because the extenders are square...

    Swa for garage

If you lay just the duct let your electrician worry...

    Old Crittal window

This view was obviously taken from outside. Its shows the stone sill, which I think look very smart when cleaned up. You can see the rendering where I started to remove it to see how deep the old frame went into the brickwork.

This view taken from inside the room shows the wooden surround inside the reveal. You may just be able to see the sightly warped window sill.

Removing an old Crittal window frame

I recently read an article about removing some old Crittal metal window frames. There were several methods mentioned and I tried a different approach. Here is my story when I had a go at my own. I live in an old 1948 brick built bungalow. It was, we believe, built by a farmer with very limited...
