Using and setting ground for float & set

When you remove the "dots, just remove the strips of wood, NOT the "blob" of plaster. Just fill in the area where the wood was, fill it out flush, with any Bonding coat you have left from coating out the wall.

Using and setting ground for float & set

Perfect, that's all you need. Just bed each timber "dot" into a blob of plaster, plumb it up to the plastered area above then tidy up around each dot. It's alway better to remove these dots, as soon as the wall has been filled out/coated with Bonding. Once you've coated the wall and removed the...

End to end straight line cracks on ceilings

    Gap under plasterboard

When we screeded sand and cement floors in the past, many of the doorframes were already fitted, ready for the doors to be hung, so we would set the level of the floor screed "dots" ( from which we set our floor levels), about 10mm or so BELOW the bottom of the doorframes. This would allow the...

    Gap under plasterboard

I would refer to the "actual" finished floor level in your case, as the top of the tiles, oak flooring etc.

    Gap under plasterboard

I would "always" leave a gap between the bottom of the plasterboard and "any" finished floor level, the skirting will always cover that gap. It's even more important to leave a gap if it's a solid floor.
