    Correct boiler setting

Hi Dan, the Pb is set to 1.5 which is as low as it goes. I have done multiple tests on comparative consecutive days (temperature wise) and the days I left the stat at a fixed temperature (and the boiler cycling on/off due to the stat) it used considerably more gas. This backed up what...

    Correct boiler setting

Hi Dan, Thanks for the reply. I would agree it is acting as supposed to if only the temperature did actually drop when I turn the heating off. As this doesn't happen for more than an hour with the temperature outside greater than 6c, it does seem that the stat is too sensitive and wasting...

    Correct boiler setting

Thanks Fullofit, I have experimented with all the settings and changed the cycle rate per hour to 3 to bring down the amount of time the boiler fires. Unfortunately the boiler still fires (allbeit a little less often) however it still fires the boiler for only about one minute to two...

    Correct boiler setting

I haven't noticed any corrosion on the heat exchanger. The WB 19/24 cbi has a cast iron heat exchanger and when I checked a year ago was fine.

Hi, Is the tpi stat with a WB 19/24cbi non condensing boiler a "no no" then?

    Correct boiler setting

Very helpful thank you! One final question please... My stat is wired. Do you think the wired danfoss would be better than the Drayton and changing to wireless ? I am aware of the difference and think it may be better wireless and having the stat in my lounge, but am unsure about the...

    Correct boiler setting

Thanks everybody for all the replies so far. I have done a great deal of research into tpi and how it works. I understand the principle perfectly. In principle it seems very good. To use a car analogy, it is easier to maintain speed, rather than slow down and speed up again. This saves...

    Correct boiler setting

[/url] Hi Whitespirit66, Interesting you should say that about the Honeywell stat. I've tried experimenting in detail with the settings to no avail. I'm not a technophobe I promise! What frustrates me the most is that my boiler is constantly firing, yet the radiators never get hot. When I...

    Correct boiler setting

Hi everyone, I have a Worcester bosch 19/24cbi boiler and would like to know what you think the best position is for the dial on the front and if there is a difference for winter or summer? The dial on the front has a dot at the 3 o'clock position, but the manual doesn't explain it at all...

Damp patches on Internal and external wall. Please help!

Sorry to be dense, but what could I expect to see from a choked cavity? How would it affect things and I take it we are talking above the dpc? :!:

Damp patches on Internal and external wall. Please help!

Hi Alastair, thanks for the reply. Ground level to damp proof course is approximately 6" or 150mm. The nearest air brick is about 1.5" from the patio level. I'll check to see if it's clear. The house was built in 2005 so I believe it has a floating floor. How do I check for a choked cavity?

Damp patches on Internal and external wall. Please help!

Hi Joe, The water butt definitely hasn't overflowed. It is a secondary one not connected to the drain and the water level isn't at the top. The moss on the bottom bricks was also present before I put the water butt there around 8 months ago. At that time the bricks looked dry, albeit with the...

Damp patches on Internal and external wall. Please help!

Thanks for the reply Alastair. Do you think the gutter could leak down between the cavity wall to make the wall wet both sides? What do you suggest I do? I can check it with a really tall ladder and when it's raining hard, but do you think I need a professional in? If so, which one please...

Damp patches on Internal and external wall. Please help!

Hi, Yes, the gutter is above the damp area. In the photos, the bit at ground level that sticks out is a chimney breast, the guttering in another photo is coming up to meet the chimney breast. Thanks.

Damp patches on Internal and external wall. Please help!

Hi, Today I noticed paint peeling off the wall just above the skirting board in the lounge. Upstairs there is a WC, I believe the pipework for this is further over though. Anyway, I went to check outside and discovered the outside wall brickwork to be very wet and the moss in that area...
