Burner always on when central heating on Ideal Logic Plus

Hmm He did offer to install a separate control panel to control the temperature for extra money but didn't say it was necessary... I think it was about £2.5k So if the reason is undersized radiators, what are the possible solutions? Is it only install bigger rads? If so, how big a job is...

Burner always on when central heating on Ideal Logic Plus

It's only a small 2 bed terrace which has 6 radiators. None of which are that big. It's a 30kW boiler so I would assume that that shouldn't be the issue?

Burner always on when central heating on Ideal Logic Plus

So if that is the case, does it mean lack of insulation? Lack of power from the boiler? Need larger radiators?

Burner always on when central heating on Ideal Logic Plus

I know it doesn't go out when I turn it to E, but I haven't tried any lower. Will try that next time I turn on the heating. I don't think I have a programmer? Basically I just have the boiler and no separate control panel to the temperature. Is that what you mean?

Burner always on when central heating on Ideal Logic Plus

Thanks, good to know about the modulating boilers. Hope that is the case with mine. They radiators might be undersized, I don't know as the gas engineer chose them. I do have a TV in front of mine. The warmest room, when the central heating is on, is the kitchen (which is normally the coldest...

Burner always on when central heating on Ideal Logic Plus

Hi, I have a Ideal Logic Plus combi boiler. When I turn on the central heating the burner is constantly on (at least the burner light indicator suggests it's always on). Is this normal? Seems to use a lot of gas when I use the central heating. I would have thought that the burner indicator...

Sanding door frames and skirting boards help

One of BIN's boasts is that you can use it over gloss paint without sanding hence why I thought i would use that over the other primers. The problem was I wasn't able to get rid of the shine, to the naked eye, when using 120 unless I was scrubbing really hard. That's why i moved up to 60...

Sanding door frames and skirting boards help

I was using the Black and Decker Sandstorm sander... I'm using 60 because it didn't look as if 120 was taking anything off. Are you meant to notice a difference sanding for a key? Or maybe a couple of passes, even if I don't see any change with my eye, is enough as that with create enough...

Sanding door frames and skirting boards help

So are you recommending oil based satinwood or water based? The reason I chose aqua gloss was because of the non-yellowing properties unlike oil based paints. Is Aqua really that bad? Don't know what to do now. Shall I open those 5 litre cans of paint only to find out they are a pain and I've...

Sanding door frames and skirting boards help

Yeah, going to be white - definitely not that yellow! I was going to prime it first with Glidden Trade Acrylic Primer, then undercoat with Johnstones Aqua undercoat and finally Johnstones Aqua Gloss White. One coat of each should be enough? I did think about satinwood then read about...

Sanding door frames and skirting boards help

Thanks I did start with 120 grit but it hardly seem to make much difference but then again I don't know how much I needed to sand. So from the pictures, can you tell if that is enough sanding before I apply the undercoat? As I said the bits of dark yellow in the 'after' pic is still the...

Sanding door frames and skirting boards help

Hello, I am currently preparing to paint my door frames and skirting boards and I have read everywhere that I will need to sand or strip off the paint first. So I have bought a electric sander as I have a lot to do! I've just started and using a 60 grit sandpaper. I started on the door...

Do I need these walls/ceiling skimmed before painting?

Do I really need to wash down all the walls first? Won't the mist coat of paint do the job?

Do I need these walls/ceiling skimmed before painting?

Sorry, one more thing (for now :D) What is the best way to prime these type of walls/ceiling for painting?

Do I need these walls/ceiling skimmed before painting?

Thanks guys. Time's not a problem. Money is! :) I was quoted £240 to do the whole thing including ceilings! I think I might give it a go at filling and sanding, there's no deep cracks so I'm hoping it's OK. Can I do the same thing with the ceilings though?
