Radiators have a loud vibrate and stay on past timer

Hi, I should also point out, a printed circuit board in something which must be carried out by a gas safe registered engineer.... With regards to the manifold, I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself, purely because it can be a nightmare to get back together, and in turn to repair any...

Radiators have a loud vibrate and stay on past timer

Hi, It seems fairly certain it's a fault with the diverter valve..... If the clip pushed right through and the actuator is stable (not shoogling about) it's on correctly, which then points to another couple of things.... 1: the actuator is not pushing/retracting the pin in the cartridge...

Radiators have a loud vibrate and stay on past timer

right-oh.... Firstly, how has the boiler behaved since you switched the heating off??? Are you sure the actuator is on correctly?? To check operation, turn off the boiler at on/off switch and leave off untill cold..... Switch it back on and run the hot tap, when boiler fires up feel the...

Radiators have a loud vibrate and stay on past timer

Congrats... Exactly the correct component... The brass section is the cartridge, which I would recomend replacing..... Just re-assemble in reverse order..... Would be worth our while to pick up a tube of aquasil sillicone grease, just to lubricate the orings before re-assembling.... With...

    Boiler thermostat setting

The clue's in the question.... Because the lower the stat is, the lower the flow temp will be..... Therefore the pump will be able to get rid of the heat much more easily.... ie: if the stat is at 1 the pump will deal with this substantially lower temp.... if set at 6, the pump may not get...

    Boiler thermostat setting

Hi, I should have clarified.... When the water pumps back into the header tank it raises the water level, which will then case it to run out of the overflow...... This water would be hot as a result of the pumping over.... It really sounds to me as though the pump isn't running properly...

Radiators have a loud vibrate and stay on past timer

Hi, To be honest, yea, you usually would notice a "cooling" of the HW. This cooling is some times marginal however, so you may not notice any small drop (though this is admittedly unusual in my experience)..... For me, the relevant point is the fact that the appliance continually fires up...

Radiator Q :- Which side should lockshield valve go?

Out of interest, why was the pipework not done under the floor??? Are the floors stone??? If so, I have sympathy with why he has done it this way.... Doesn't really change anything tho.... I realise this is a stupid question, but are those isolation valves on either side???? and if so are...

Radiator Q :- Which side should lockshield valve go?

The main flow and return will be piped in 3/4" pipe (or at least they should be)..... Tee-ing off from this point is by far preferable, as smaller bore pipe which is already supplying one or more rads will simply not handle the load as well.... Sorry, but I think this would be your best bet...

    "MAIN" unvented cylinder misbehaving

While I have my unvented ticket, I'm really not great with it so tend not to work on it..... Having said that, it sounds more as though hot and cold are mixing at some point.... Mixer showers and taps are often the culprit..... Martin
