    I did consider that but i am not sure how old it is. Think it may ahve been the original consumer unit which was relegated to just storage heaters. I will ask the advice of the electrician before I remove it.

    thanks :) well we will see what happens looks like they may have to move the boiler they just plumbed in anyway as you cant open the front - the fusebox is in the way and I dont trust them to move that! Shame you dont know what a companys workmanship is like until after the job...
