If the pump surges and fuses the switch in Tado then why doesn’t it fuse the switch in the motorised valve?

I thought the Tado sent a switched live to a motorised valve which then opens and sends a switched live to the boiler and pump. If so how will the relay help?

I have experienced with these types of smart thermostats that setting the setback temp no more than 2c below set temp is more comfortable and ensures a reasonable heat up time.

That’s not the only downside, it’s also emitting more CO2, costing more in gas, adding extra wear to components and shortening their life.

This only happens if "comfort mode" is turned on. IME it doesnt work very well if the room temperature drops more than a couple of degrees below the next set temperature.

I would set both TRV's to max and if the "room" without the wall thermostat overheatst then turn the lockshield on its radiator down a touch.

Yes, just allocate the room thermostat to the same room as the TRV and the room thermostat takes over.

The gen1 and gen2 Wiser hubs use different backplates, I upgraded to the gen2 a few months ago hence how I know.

It does make a difference. For a 150mm (6”) fan the gap needs to be 177cm2 minimum.

For a 10cm (4”) fan the gap under the door needs to be minimum of 78cm2.

That’s not heating though. You asked about controlling heating for dawn/dusk.

Wiser allows more than 9 thermostats, you can have up to 16 heating zones/rooms with maximum of 5 devices in a zone but a maximum of 64 devices in total.

It’s an unusual thing to want to control heating based on dawn and/or dusk so you will have to lash up a way to do it using something like Home Assistant and a 3rd party sensor. The HA integration for Wiser is excellent and gives a huge amount of information and control which the Wiser app can...
