    Computer Screen.

Windows ships with a built in magnifier for visually impaired users. A larger screen may help you; why not spend some time with the magnifier, see how that goes, and maybe you won't need to spend money on a new screen? A larger screen set with a resolution that works for you may help...

Agree with Oompah, use Revo Uninstaller - it removes so much more than a lot of the application installers.

    Unknown broadband usage

After the fact, it isn't much use, but if there's a Gb of traffic over the course of the day when the PC is not being used, then I'd say it's pretty useful, because you stand a very good chance of capturing something.

    internet cafes

When ever you use a computer that is in the public domain, please make sure that you delete ALL the web browser history before you leave. The amount of times I've used a public computer and found personal details from previous users is scary. Only visit the sites you have to on a public...

    Number plates

I've never really quite understood why someone would want to have their number plate try to look like the make and model of their car. To me, it looks like it's a reminder as to what car they drive :) Also, and I don't have much to base this on, but are cars with personalised number plates...

    Help again....

If you have a Windows installation disk in your drive, remove it and reboot. If that's not the case, when your PC boots up, after the POST screen (the one that says how much RAM, what Processor etc), hold down F8 until you get a start up options menu. Choose 'safe-mode', let it run through all...

Only purchase one with a copier/scanner if you really need a copier/scanner. The less there is to go wrong, the better - and you're better off spending money on the components that you really need.

    Mile a minute climber

Mile a minute also has the ability to take over other plants spaces too; once in, you are more than likely to regret it. We have a passion flower plant growing up the front of our house; in 3 years it's covered most of it. I installed a lot of wires for it to follow, now I have to trim it...

    Good bait for rat traps

We have a track and hedges running alongside the house, and recently, a family of rats have moved in. We've bought a humane rat trap (there's no way we'd kill an animal), and have caught 5 of them so far. I was wondering if any of you have had good success with specific bait? So far we've...

    converting video to dvd

have you installed anything lately that would have caused your current application to stop working? If you're happy with the results of it before the problem, maybe uninstall and reinstall, in case that solves the problem? Failing that, I use either Handbrake, or PSP Video 9 for all my video...

How to make a small soakaway!

why don't you empty some water from the water butt? Surely the whole point of having a water butt is to collect rain water, and use it? If you don't have a use for the water right now, it'll only take 5 minutes and a bucket to empty half the volume down a drain, on your flower beds etc. Would...

    Leave it running or not?

why not set it to hibernate after 2 hours of inactivity? Then it's drawing hardly any power, you're not needlessly spinning fans, hard drives are powered down, and the temperature of your PC case drops significantly. The longer you run PC hardware, the sooner you're going to have to replace it

    Freezures and failures

Sounds like an accumulation of crud inside your PC was possibly stopping a cooling fan from spinning properly, causing the motherboard to shut down when it reached a critical temperature.

    Help with replacement motherboard. :-)

Invest in a decent PSU, and a surge protected power supply. I once lost 3 PSU's in 3 days thanks to power surge and no surge protection

    I.E./google. very slow

If your internet connection is usually ok, but for a couple of days has been slow and unusable, yo may wish to try resetting your router (assuming you're not on a dial up modem). Either restart it from the router admin screen, or remove the power from it for 30s, then plug back in.
