    looking/investigating to install double glazing.

Unfortunately the dg industry is riddled with crooks and bodgers. Don't be misled by the big names who advertise a lot as, even though the product may be ok, they may sub-contract the work to someone who hasn't got a clue about correct fitting. The best deal can be from someone who works on...

    LPG Costs

kendor: Not me no - it's all those planes in the sky! When I buy logs I make sure to ask if a new tree is planted for every one that is chopped down. This makes the wood CO2 neutral because the growing tree absorbs more CO2 than is released when burned. Burning wood can be very environmentally...

    LPG Costs

I really am serious about solid fuel. I've got a stove that burns coal or wood and has a back-boiler that heats the water and 2 radiators that total 7.5kW. It's a gravity system so no pump, diverter valves or room stat to go wrong. It's 24 hours heating even if there's a power cut. Read all...

    pressure washers

I've had this Alto one for a few years and chose this make because a mate of mine had one for years with no problems. One good point is the pump is metal, as some are plastic. It's 110 bar pressure but I think most are over 100 bar. The current version of mine (E5350)is 120 bar pressure. You...

I placed an order last Fri for 30 items - £100+, and it was delivered this morning with no mistakes. I was a bit reluctant to risk it after mistakes on my previous order before Xmas, but it looks like normal service resumed then.

    LAYING CARPET TILES - BADLY

I've used carpet tiles twice. The first time, I used Heuga tiles and although more expensive there were no joins visible. The second time, I was doing a house to sell and had been offered some cheap ones. The joins showed with the pile all in the same direction so I turned each adjacent tile...

three port valve packed up????? brrr its cold!!!

That was a good tip from Kev, I didn't know that one. If you've got a new motor there is no need to take the head off though, so no need to drain down even if it's the older non-sealed valve.
