    Burgler

I'm sure they will, but Tony Martin got a lot of support and I think his appeal was influenced by that.

    Adding and removing! panel heaters

Ok sorry I hadn't read that edit, but I also thought he only wanted to remove the panel heaters, not the CU? He just wants the panel heaters for his new flat.

    Burgler

Just announced it's ok to kill burglers. Great news, too many do-gooders saying they have human rights.

    Felt Backed Carpet

I don't expect everyone to agree with me but I have renovated and sold quite a few houses. Whatever you do, you have to try to please the majority of people. Some people will not like the bathroom suite or the kitchen. Some people will not like pvc windows and prefer real wood but others will...

    Felt Backed Carpet

Not really; if it's good carpet then does the selling price include carpet? If it does, they say they don't want it and negotiate the price down excluding carpet. It's no use to you though so you leave it anyway. It's best to say the price doesn't include the cheap carpet and then just leave it...

    Felt Backed Carpet

Felt-backed carpet is replacing foam-back because long term the foam breaks down. You're selling it so why worry? I'm hoping to finish my house and sell next year. I shall fit the cheapest carpet I can find which at the moment is foam-back cord @£1.99/yd²

    Dented wheel

As long as the tyre seals then it's ok to bash it straight. There are firms that will roll a buckle from a cast ally wheel as well. Having said that, I recently needed two tyres for my trailer which had 10" Mini wheels, and that size tyre is expensive now. I got 2 wheels and tyres from the...

I must get some new glasses really. You're right the pier on the right is only a single brick wide so the slab goes right through. How you propose to remove the slab sounds ok to me. If the front face of the chimney breast is only a single skin then the lintel is only supporting the triangle of...

It looks like the slab supports all the brickwork unlike mine where it is only on half the wall. If the arrowed bit is slab then do you propose to disc cut the slab and leave part of it supporting the brickwork? Possible but a bit messy; my slab's got steel bar reinforcement. The wood lintel...

Ok, I've cleaned my screen and can just about make out the ribs on the flexible now. Have a look at this pic. This is the start of a chimney I built where I cast my own slab, then lifted it into place. A wood/coal burner was fitted below. You can see how it is supported on half of the pier so...

    Chimneybreast mod.

If the chimney had clay liners they would be built from the concrete slab that you referred to, and surrounded by some sort of mortar mix and often bits of broken brick. That doesn't look like a clay flue liner to me or a flexible liner? Is it just a steel flue pipe and why is it at that angle?
