    Roof invasion

Hi all Noticed a lot of wasps flying around the corner of my roof, after talking a closer look I could see that they were entering my roof through badly fitted roof tiles. As a professional myself, not in the building trade, it must make the genuine builders like yourselfs furious to see this...

    The mystery continues

Unfortunately the hot tap runs for 30 seconds At a flow rate of 5 sec / 1L = 6 Ltrs which is 3 to 6 times the volume of the pre-heater vessel.

    The mystery continues

No reduction in the hot water through the boiler, really good flow from taps and shower.

    The mystery continues

When I fitted the shower it was obvious which the hot and cold supply pipes were, l could feel the temperature difference quite easily. My water pressure is very good, so the stop cock is throttled back. I will look into getting some fittings for the shower test.

    The mystery continues

Unfortunately I have resealed the bath panel (maybe to premature) but I can follow the pipes from the floor to the tap inlet, and it's a straight run without any other pipe work attached. I don't have any fittings to blank of the shower. Do you think it's likely that a brand new shower from one...

    The mystery continues

I fitted a brand new Mira Atom EV Thermostatic bar mixer. The bath tap is a none mixer. I have attached pictures from under the bath. The bungalow was built in 1980. We have only lived in the property for just over a year, so can't say when the bathroom was installed.

    The mystery continues

The sequence was Turn off the cold water supply to the boiler, Run the hot tap, water runs hot gradually turning cold, stops after 30 seconds no further water coming from the tap.

    The mystery continues

The water runs hot gradually turning cold, then suddenly stops after the 30 seconds.

    The mystery continues

Yes, with the boiler cold water supply isolated, hot tap water runs for 30 seconds, then just stops, with no more water flowing.

    The mystery continues

When it first happened the tap symbol, square around the tap was not there. The thing leading the engineer to the TMV is the hot water tap runs for 30 seconds (at 5 sec/ Litre) after the boiler is isolated from the cold supply.

    The mystery continues

Unfortunately reference my last post, I'm not getting that kind of temperature differential. Still not sure where I can go from here, how can I find the TMV or prove I don't have one without ripping my house apart?

    The mystery continues

Just tried the test, DHW set to max temp 65°, ran the tap next to the boiler thermometer reading of 64°, ran the bathroom tap which it a considerable distance from the boiler, thermometer reading 62°. I'm using a normal glass thermometer, so I think with in the scope for errors.

    The mystery continues

I see where you are coming from, but if I have a none working TMV which according to the engineer is the problem I have, and it's not regulating the DHW temperature what does this confirm. Or am I wrong in my assumption. I will give it a try, but I can't turn of the water to the bath or the...
