Check the current amp capacity for replacing oven

Quite recently I was looking for power rating for a Bosch double oven and an induction hob; it wasn't straight forward but found it eventually.

http://www.screwfix.com/p/arctic-products-steel-wool-450g-medium/67328 Apparently they struggle to chew through this stuff. Be careful when pulling anything like this apart as can cut yourself.

Two wall sockets keep tripping the fuse box.

Unlikely but entirely possible considering kitchen sockets weren't earthed

Two wall sockets keep tripping the fuse box.

Do not put in a 20 amp! This could have previously been a lighting circuit that a numpty has converted to a plug socket circuit. Or it could be anything; no way of telling without test gear and knowledge

    Cable terminations

Surprisingly this emergency light fitting actually worked! Edit: maybe not too suprising as one strand is visible

16A MCB trips when tumble dryer is on

I'm not the most experienced electrical guru but I will affirm that stranger things have happened!

16A MCB trips when tumble dryer is on

I don't think stranded conductors are an issue but what is the CSA of your extension cable? It may be written on the reel housing of there is one, or the cable itself.

16A MCB trips when tumble dryer is on

Have a quick look (with mcb off) that where the grey sheath has been trimmed back that the live hasn't been nipped into.

16A MCB trips when tumble dryer is on

Why do that (and cut the plug off) when the dryer works ok with extension cable into a different socket outlet?

16A MCB trips when tumble dryer is on

I'm struggling to think what else it could be! If line(live) insulation damaged, could slight arching between line and earth occur after a short amount of time?

16A MCB trips when tumble dryer is on

A period of time when a moderate amount of current can have an effect on a damaged cable via heat maybe?!?

16A MCB trips when tumble dryer is on

Could a fault in the cable to the socket outlets cause the mcb to trip? Can you physically inspect the entire cable run?

    R63 (E27) LED, which dimmer?

Ive been informed by Megaman that all their dimmable LED lamps are leading edge, which makes them compatible with "standard" dimmers. Whether you can meet the minimum load requirements of the dimmer... So to answer your question, can you provide a link to the lamps you mention? They may be...

    Replacing a Thermostatic Bar Valve

The linked one is not suitable for a gravity system. If you have a gravity system it may not function correctly so find our first before you make a purchase so you don't make the same mistake as me!

Changing from spur to timer for immersion

It appears you've purchased wrong product. If you want water to be heated for a certain time every day and not on permanently, then this will work. The "spur" you're referring to, do you mean switch? If it's a switch, you could leave it in situ and fit timer between this switch and the immersion...

    Electric shower goes cool

I can't answer your recent questions but on previous thermostatic shower I had to clean a filter inside yhe unit every couple of months On my newer non-thermostatic Triton, the damn shower head is the culprit; they even give you a special tool to take it apart to clean! Ignore any "rub clean...

12v MR11 Low Voltage lighting tripping RCCB

Have you connected the 230 v supplt to the right end of the transformer? ie you haven't connected it to the 12 v output by mistake? Not sure what would happen if you did to be honest!

Victorian style Garden lamp mains connection query

Have you removed cover off circular junction box? Maybe something strange happening in there. Turn power off at circuit breaker first as may be a loose wire somewhere.

External junction box - gland nut seized

You might get a normal spanner in there. It's worth getting the remainder of the cable poking out checked out as moisture may have gotten into the steel armour strands etc. This requires a bit of skill though so worth asking someone who knows. Can the cable maybe be pulled out of ground a bit...
