    Yes they can - but you need to use it correctly. Liquid PTFE is also very good when used properly.

    He might if you ask him very nicely and he can get the nuts undone without cracking the awful POS that is the boiler buddy. Personally I would ask him to take it out and fit something decent like the Magnaclean or TF1.

    Because turning down your stop cock does not reduce the pressure. It reduces the aperture the water passes through. Not the pressure at which it passes. pressure reducing valves have sprung loaded mechanisms that adjust the throughput to the set pressure.

    Its a diverter/management kit. Its fine, leave it. As long as it is 300mm from an opening. (Other restrictions ommitted) for the ease of simplicity and my valued bath time).

    Make and model of boiler? Does the pilot light actual start, but then go out? or can't you get it to light at all? If the latter - keep trying. Or call national Grid back and get them to purge the system properly. If the former then you will need an RGI. But with the info provided...
