    CH Working but not DHW

Ha ha I see where your going with this. Ain’t biting.

    CH Working but not DHW

I’ll be honest I don’t even like telling customers to top up the pressure on their own boilers. It can cause all types of problems if done incorrectly.

    Boiler Switching Off

Reading your post a few times it’s seems like you have hit the nail on the head. Most likely is the actuator.

    CH Working but not DHW

Yeah but it covers out of date gas tickets aswell. As long as your doing work in your own home and no one else’s.

    Boiler Switching Off

If you have a 2 channel clock that could be the issue. Start there.

    CH Working but not DHW

How ever competent you feel you are unless you are a qualified heating engineer or at least have previous experience working with engineers on gas appliances and even then I’d strongly recommend not working on your boiler. I’ve seen something’s in my time and would hate to hear someone had to...

    Vaillant EcoTec 831 pressure issue

A Ravenheat to a Vaillant? That’s like trading a Morris Miner for a Rolls Royce :D

    Vaillant EcoTec 831 pressure issue

Technically there’s no reason you should have to top up your boiler pressure yourself. That’s something done as part of your boilers service. Not everyone is as clued up as you. It does count as an emergency if you have no heating and hot water which is what you would have if you didnt top the...

    Vaillant EcoTec 831 pressure issue

If you want to know to know what I’d charge if it was the problem I stated it would be around £300 all in parts&labour

    Vaillant EcoTec 831 pressure issue

Nothing should be coming out of your pressure relief valve. It is a safety feature on the boiler. When pressure is released in turn the pressure out of your boiler will decrease. The reason why this is happening is likely to do with a faulty expansion vessel. When water is heated up it...

    Central heating not coming on

Definitely sounds like diverter valve to me. Just out of intrest if you run your hot water to run a bath or have a shower does your boiler cut out in overheat?

    Vaillant EcoTec 831 pressure issue

From your explanation, due to the sporadic increase and decrease in pressure it sounds to me like your expansion vessel may need replacing. Probably best to change PRV also. They tend not to seal properly once water has been let through them a few times.

    Leaking Danfoss motorised valves

Never had that problem with Honeywell 2 port CH valves of this type before very rarely fit Danfoss valves. Well done for sorting out the replacement spindle seals.

Very slow leak in gas heating system - looking for seal recommendations / advice

I haven’t topped up my boiler for 8 months now and the pressure gauge still sits a 1 bar when cold. Perfect.

    central heating pressure drop help

Fibre seals are rubbish. Rubber seals that usually come with the pump are the best option. No need for silicone grease.Best option would be to use a jointing compound paste with your fibre seals.

    Vented hot water system help

Auto air vent on an open vented cylinder? ‍♂️
  17. C

    Shower pump

Yes of course but the feed to the shower from the pump needs to be disconnected from the draw off so as it doesn’t feed other hot water outlets. The only reasons I can think for your shower pump sporadically pumping is incorrect installation, faulty flow switch or your showers mixer valve...

    Vented hot water system help

No problem. Just can’t see any reason to fit a check valve to a hot water cylinders draw off unless some sort of mixer valve or tap is passing. Fitting one is a cheap fix but potentially dangerous unless fitted after the vent as it has the potential to fail. Maybe reinstall check valve but move...

    Shower pump

Your mixer showers valve could be passing causing water to mix inside valve instead of showers outlet hose causing pump to fail.

    Shower pump

The way you just described it above makes it sound like your shower pump is now pumping to all hot water outlets and not just the shower feed.
