Electrician has left holes in interior brickwork

Stick with us GeorgeP. Not being an easy way to access your pictures will pee off the quick thread scanners, it is a lot easier though! But in a weird way, the folks who have been there and done that will try to get to your pictures and help you out.

I think i know what i'm after but not the name!

I agree with harbourwoodwork. I'd go for two screws and plugs in the wall (plugs dependant on wall type). I'd then attach a chord, like a picture, to the back of the frames. Finally I'd get some accoustifeet** and attach one to each corner to hold the panel off the wall. **That's a trade...

Electrician has left holes in interior brickwork

BAS is better with his long write ups as to why you shouldn't be doing what you intend. His one liners are crap!

    Earth spike for outbuilding?

If your sparky is up to the mark he'll bang in an earth rod, take a reading, and if needed use a joint and knock the second one down. Maybe it was the way I was taught but always TT'd an obviously separate garage or shed.

Electrician has left holes in interior brickwork

I don't like the "dog legs" bends where the cables go across the wall then up or down. They should be in a straight vertical / horizontal run to the socket / switchplate.

    Kitchen drawer removal

Need to get a kitchen drawer out of an antique carcass. The drawer itself, except the front is a one piece moulded tray. It has two metal runners, the one attached to the drawer has like a moulded rivet to keep it attached with a little plastic clip on the end that seems to serve no purpose than...

    Flymo speed regulator

Recycling is nothing new! Over 40 years ago my old man used a record player motor to power a fan blade under his inglenook open fire to get it going. 'Twas too big for the newspaper sheet trick. He also told me ( aged 8 ) that it was the reason the coal or logs sometimes "whistled". Took me...

Where do I get a double light switch from?

If you need two switches to control two lights you need a two gang switch. If you need two switches that may also control the lamps from another switch, then you need a two way, two gang switch. They haven't disappeared. Its just your Google search terms are, how can I put it without being...

neon light on pull cord switch for shower

If you paid someone to replace the switch get them back. Tell them what you are worried about. It should be safe. Most likely the very thin lead feeding one side of the lamp got damaged whilst trying to bend the brute of a 10mm (6mm) cable into position. And the wee neons (?). in my own...

    Low Voltage

Your voltage has a tolerance. It should be 230V +10%/-6%. That is 253V down to 216V. Although you are more likely to be running around 240V. Voltage sensitive equipment is more likely to be damaged with an over current. Having said that, I'm not sure if a low voltage would damage anything...
