interior shed paint in cold weather

I have just finished insulating the inside of a standard wooden shed and although the temperature does not get that cold I really need to paint the inside of the shed. The temperature inside the shed still varies too much from 1 degrees C to about 14 degrees C in Winter The paint needs to be...

    Drain down hot water pipe

Nope. The boiler manual backs what I have said. Here is a list of the two components I need to make a 22mm x 22mm x 15mm drain valve on the hot water outlet about 0.5m from the boiler. I would put 22mm pipe clips either side of this valve 1. 22mm x 22mm x 15mm tee...

    Drain down hot water pipe

The same display is used for bot hot water and for radiator temperature, the readings switch between both. So if you turn up the radiator temp by 1 setting the display will show rad temp then if you immediately change the hot water temp the display will show hot water temp.

    Drain down hot water pipe

The boiler has 2 separate controls for heating radiator and heating hot water. Not confusing anything.

    Drain down hot water pipe

The boiler has 2 displays one for hot water (tap) temperature the other for radiator temperature. The outlet temperature on both can be adjusted separately. The insulation under the bathtub has no effect on the bath tap exit temperature however more insulation under the bathtub will retain...

    Drain down hot water pipe

Said bathroom has no underfloor insulation and has a cold floor. Whilst I agree the exit hot water tap temperature won't change from insulating under the floor, the bathtub's heat will last longer with more insulation

    Drain down hot water pipe

So a 15/22mm in line pressure gauge? What make/manufacturer do you recommend?

    Drain down hot water pipe

Ok. What sort of drain valve is best to install on 15mm hot/cold water pipe?

    Drain down hot water pipe

Literally shove insulation under the bathtub leaving no gap? I have spare roofing breathable membrane which I think I should envelop the rockwool that I would shove under the bathtub to allow me to easily get the insulation out if needed

    Drain down hot water pipe

Yes the insulation needs to be in in contact with the underside of the bathtub. Rockwool is fine I can use insulation netting to retain heat. Have you used rockwool on the underside of bathtubs to retain heat?

    Drain down hot water pipe

How does underfloor insulation not improve heat retention in the hot water of the above floor bathtub? The whole point of insulation is to keep heat in. And there is a 0.5m2 hole under the bathtub because of poor installation which suck heat out of air below the metal bathtub. The boiler hot...

    Drain down hot water pipe

The analogue pressure gauge on the boiler itself which only displays the radiator flow/return pressure. Don't know if static or dynamic. Probably static. I said previously that I turn down the hot water outlet temperature to a setting of 4/7 (boiler outlet temperature about 65oC) because of...

    Drain down hot water pipe

The lowest point available for a 15mm drain valve is in the garage which is below the property. The boiler is in the garage sat on concrete floor. When the boiler is turned off, as the outlet water pressure is between 1.5 to 2.5 bar when the boiler is off, I think the pressure should be 1.5-2.5...

    Drain down hot water pipe

Why? Because 1) there is a long stretch of about 15m from front to back, 2) I think there is a pressure loss and the original hot water pipe is 15mm copper which, despite lagging, still delivers a lukewarm bath and 3) There are more properties being build nearby which is straining an already...

    Drain down hot water pipe

I'm looking to drain down my hot water (tap) pipe before replacing 15mm with 22mm hot water pipe. I have added a 15mm drain valve to my cold water pipe and plan to do the same to my hot water pipe. This is to stop, after I turn the boiler off and cut the hot water (tap) pipe from leaking...

    Nailgun

I have lots of other wood working projects such as 3"x2" framing for a false wall and separately for a shed. Both could use nail guns. Could a 15ga nail gun work?

    Nailgun

What nailgun uses 15 gauge collated nails? Usually 1st fixing nailguns only do 16 gauge. Should I get 14 gauge long nails to make sure that for structural timber/framing is nailed together?

    Nailgun

I plan to do lots of things 1) Nailing together two 3"x2" CLS timbers together (e.g. noggins) and CLS timber to mini joist hangers. For lowering ceiling height. Frame itself only holds insulation and plasterboard. 2) 3mm thick 1.2m wide x 2.4m long plywood nailed onto inside structure of...

    Nailgun

I think I can use a 18 gauge nail fired from a nailgun on the 3mm plywood but can I use a 18gauge nail on the 18mm chipboard? Otherwise I was going to get a 90mm (max penetration depth) 1st fixing nailgun which uses 16gauge nails. Something like one of those Dewalt ones but I want a corded...

    Insulate wooden shed

Carrying on the thread - I have now insulated the shed with a mix of 50mm block insulation and 50mm mineral wool and put breathable membrane both sides. Am now cladding the inside of the shed using a mix of 18mm chipboard and 3mm plywood. I think I can use a 18 gauge nail fired from a nailgun...
