namsag are you saying a replacement boiler should cost no more than £300 plus 2-3 hours labour? i managed to get the original quote of £1200 down to £950 but in the end still didnt go through with it.

yeah it's a very old boiler that really should have been replaced , it only heats the water to the bath tub and basin, the shower is separate and is electric and then we have a worcster combi in the basement that heats the rest of the property. does the replacement boiler have to be the same...

our bathroom boiler caught fire yesterday, sort of lucky it happened during the day rather than at night when asleep, it hadnt spread yet so i was able to put it out by turning off the boiler and then hosed it down with the powder extinguisher. anyway i'm just wondering if anyone can tell...

we have a worcester 24i as well, and yes i have found that when the flame/main burner switches itself off you tap the front lower panel to ignite the flame again!, either that or you switch off mains for about 15mins then back on again will normally get the burner flame back on. no luck tonight...

yep we have one but it's just on/off or auto timer settings/clock,on all day/off all day, theres no low or maximum temp settings. it's an old one that was used for the old boiler before we replaced it with the worcester 24i

where is this located on the boiler? it says on the back of the boiler cover to turn the room stat to maximum if it's fitted, but i'm not sure if we have this fitted?

sorry yes the main burners wont come on except for when i turn on the hot water taps, as soon as i turn off the taps burner goes off again, but the pump/boiler still stays on, water pressure is set at 2bar. i've tried switching the boiler off at the mains for a few minutes but still no luck:(

please help!, not been able to get the central henting on all night and now the rooms are freezing!. problem is the pilot light wont come on,for some reason it only comes on when i turn the hot water tap on , where as before it would stay on constantly. any ideas? thx
