    Gravel drive boudary

Hi, I've got a gravel drive and I constantly find the gravel creeping onto the pavement at the drive entrance so i looked around and saw other houses have 2 or 3 lines of bricks in parallel lines as a boundary to i assume stop this happening. Is there any particular type of brick i should use...

Concrete garage experiences - Hanson? Nucrete?

Allan, your post came at a similar time to what to me still appears to be a real spam post. I've frequented internet forums for years and it is common when new posters arrive and say something either very positive or negative it arouses suspicion, there is no slight on you if you are legit...

    Load bearing walls?

I have a bungalow which i'm hoping to convert (see my other threads). It has brick internal walls on the ground floor that are used to support the ceiling joists (2x4" across 3-4m spans at 400mm spacings i think). Would these walls be capable of greater loads (i.e. floors, when using larger...

    Dormers

Thanks for the info, can i ask another - was that 1 man or a few? Just need to get some idea, because i'm thinking of having 3 or 4 built and they appear to be pretty costly!

    Dormers

So the main thing is labour because it takes a while, how long did yours take, just the dormer i mean not the bathroom.

    Dormers

Hi, I was wondering why i keep hearing that dormers are expensive when doing a loft conversion, they seem to add quite a bit to the price that people get quoted (having looked on various forums). Why is that, they don't seem very complicated?

Also, when i said relatively cheap i meant it, not doing it on the cheap if you know what i mean.

    Looking for Ideas

Thanks all for your replies. I think i like the smallish flat roof option, I've tried to model it a bit and i've added some dormers and made it hip shape because a gable end looked bad with ridge or not, and even though i lose space it's probably nicer to have a better looking building. Does...

    Looking for Ideas

I didn't know this forum was frequented by so many comedians. :D Are there any diy'ers or builders out there though? All i want to know really is what people have seen on similar types of roofs/extensions, there must be plenty out there right? What have they done to the roof on those?

Fitting Kitchen units to partition wall

I'm no expert, but what about cutting out a bit of plasterboard and fitting ply in it's place, then you can fix and it'll be secure without wasting space.
