    Which is the best way? Appliances in kitchen......Isolator switches above work top then down to a single socket for appliance. Any preferences between using FCU'S or 20A double pole switches for my isolators or will either do? Regards Katron.

    removed intake fuse and looked.... I know you shouldn't but you need to know for when filling out an EIC anyway..and leccy board aren't helpful... Seen quite a few intakes saying on fuse holder 100A when 60A insde and vice versa.

    yes just test between extraneous conductive parts and also the cpcs from each circuit in the bathroom and ecp's....read the figure should be less than 0.05 ohms

    Just a quick one, in the middle of a job, an outside light on it's own circuit...problem is that the main incoming fuse is 100amp and the fuse board is an old wylex 3036 rated at 60 amp, maximum demand to be 70A, advised customer to replace board and tails, but has refused. Should I carry on...

    Can somebody please tell me if it is against regulations to mount sockets inside kitchen cupboards, as i was under the impression it was against building regs or whether that was a guide...or you have to fix them to the fabric of the building. Thanks Katron

    I was wrong sorry, but in the green ' electricians guide to the building regulations ' page 56 ' wiring accessories should be mounted on the building fabric and not on the kitchen furniture'. It does say actually 'General guidance' in which case is it ok to do?

    I understood it that heights of switches and sockets etc, to comply with part p were for new builds ( min 450 max 1200 ), and for rewires of rings should be positioned so not less accessible than before.

    been around to a friends house following a heating engineer. Engineer told him possible loose connection, so I went around and indeed it was in the neutral bar in the cu. Reconnected, did r1 + r2, ins res, and zs, everything was fine and worked ok. My question is why would it show a 240v...
