    Would it be ok to split the tails into a double pole service connector block, then one pair to go to cu, and the other to a 2way rcd cu unit and into it goes my downstairs ring main? Or is there an easier way?

    Forgive me, but I was under the impression that if you upgraded the CU, then you had to upgrade the main earths, but not if you were doing minor works.

    Decided to put a 13a rcd fused spur in each room on the existing ring, and spur off to 3/4 sockets in each room as radials.....covered.....thanks for the put downs....so much for advice!!!

    Just finished a little job and basically a little puzzled at the moment. The main incoming fuse is fuse wire in an old ceramic holder, with no details/ scc/ or EN number? so what do I fill in for the overcurrent protective device details? Any hellp would be appreciated.. Katron

    Finding an Electrician

    Don't reckon he did a proper IR test, removing all lamps etc....alright might be slightly on the high side.....but JUST A SWITCH !!!!!!! If someone gets electrocuted who's the one in the s**t, thats what regs are for.
