    What version of AVG are you running? Is it run on a wireless laptop by any chance? ive seen this problem when new wireless netwrks are deteted. In the Firewall config, you can stop the Search for new areas, and turn of the warning....If you need more pointers i can look this upfor you..

    Depending on the age of the house most TRUSS style loft spaces are not designed for any extra load at all... If your lucky you may find tacked or stamped onto the TRUSSES the load wieght, normally about 75KGs per truss... thats for the tiles + possible snow.... Your TRUSS structure doesnt...

    Have you tried using a Magnet to help get it out? Or a paper clip with a very small amount of super glue on it... Could try a spare key from the opposte side too.... or something longer and thinner to push it back...

    Anychance of some pictures of what your loft structure looks like? What are the walls made of on the upper floor of the house? Brick? partition? Do you have dimentions of the loft area? Are the joists single? or joined? (do they span the loft space as a single peice of timber?)

    Dont use AVG, it can be more hassle than its worth... after all its free.... what do you expect to get for free..... nothing these days... Nortons 2008 now automaticaly uninstalls prev versions prior to installing the new version....

    Actually YES you can.... but not via another computer, its possible to create a bootable Flash memory stick these days, and you can run AntiVirus software from that.

    NOT correct.... Apple viruses started or came to light in 2006... and theres been a few more since then.... its far to common for people to asume having a apple mac means you wont get infected with any kind of virus etc....

    Secure a loose thread (pics)

    Im asuming the Stair tread is secure.... if you can find out where its banging against, and there is a gap, appart from when you put full body wieght on it apply / fill the gap with some silicone.... leave it to set completeley prior to walking on it... this will stop if not reduce the banging...
