    Quick test is to plug in a Table lamp or something the likes in to your main ring.... see if that also flickers... if it does chances are it a supply issue... How sure are you it started exactly when your meter was changed? If started then, im hopefull you logged it with the provider?

    Easy answer.... Try turning on the light you tapped into, and then turn on you new switch.... Sounds to me like you taken live from an already switched live at the existing lights... and not from the feed side from the origonal switch. Make sence?

    If your only insulating your loft, then you dont need to bother your BCO. How-ever if you changing the space into a "LIVING" space, ie adding walls, partitions, lights, electric sockets etc etc, then BCO should be informed....
