sure you know Mike but i just want to be clear, port B is teed to middle of tank and the capped extention on top which i presume you have labled port C

The pipe that comes out of the top of 3pv that goes up towards the pump does not connect upto the pump, it is blanked off, it just looks like its attached, the pipe out of the pump does connect the 3pv at port ab in the middle and the bottom port is b though after looking at the old 3pv it does...

The AB port in the middle of the 3pv gets hot 1st with valve set to mid, the 15mm pipe teed into boiler gets hot way before the other if this helps, i will be able to find out when its cooled down which of the 15mm upstairs this is, and just to be clear, i managed this with out disconecting the...

My original drawing does have a circle on it which says this is the only pipe work i could see, the rest was guess work after looking at boiler & rad diagrams, as you know i have only just opened up the conduit to view, so i hope this has not caused problems.

The 3pv has been replaced and i have checked the hot water from the boiler is going to the middle of the 3pv, it was a while ago so i will recheck to make sure, i have replaced all the loft tanks with new ones so no debris, though this post maybe long i am greatful for the suggestions and...

i have started the boiler with Prog set CH & HW with 3pv in mid position, turned of HW at Prog, boiler stayed going for 3 or 4 mins before shutting off. CH&HW on and in mid pos with boiler turn up to full heat, then turn 3pv to CH, boiler boils and bangs, the vent i could feel rattleing but...

Manually at the 3pv spindle, the actuater is off and doing its thing moving to different possitions as and when. i will have to check the header tank.
