    near misses

Durgo - that would have been your raise out the window! Along with the bosses head! My mates weree ****ed up one night and decided to cut a "small" tree down that was overgrowing on the verge. As it was a little country road and dark they set to it with drunken vigour. After missing the tree...

    Diversity

Unfort the c unit is below stairs by the front door. The kitchen is on the second floor (weird) and client has wall papered walls. Cant go outside the front door and up in conduit because the top level sits back from the bottom level. So will run in trunking below the coving above main door into...

    Music

Anyone on here a fan of Carol King? I have noticed that all the young people nowadays listen to some "interesting" music. Whenever you go to a club I find the busiest room is the "cheese" room - all the golden oldies! It's a pity they don't make music like that anymore... For the record I am...

    Diversity

Adam thanks for reply - wasn't sure if I could take it as one load or 10 amps per appliance. In light of your post I reckon I will just run another 6mm supply to the kitchen. I can see what you mean about good practise applying diversity to appliances. Thanks again.

    Diversity

Greetings Can anyone please clarify summit for me. I am looking at the possibility of running an electric hob and oven off one 32A supply. When applying diversity I assume I add 20 amps first off as opposed to 10? I have a nasty feeling that its going to need another supply. Thanks

    Testin for open circuit

Hello everyone Upon discovering an open connection on a ring circuit (eg phase), is there a quick way to test the circuit to find the offending leg? I know you could take off socket covers and test between them using wander lead method, or you can take the one phase leg out of the board and...

    Anne Turner

Makes you wonder how it is that like in this instance a terminally ill person who wants to end their life is not allowed to do so, but underaged girls can get advice about abortion without their parents consent? Mix up of human rights I feel.

    Continuous bonding

Hi You can have an inline crimp in and providing the reading is less than 0.05 ohms then it is ok. I know it's not a preferred method but it can get you out of the doo at times.

    Cable detectors

Hi all Can anyone recommend a decent cable detector? I know you can get them for a tenner from b & q but I don't rate them. Had one and it died - also gave faulty readings. Thanks
