Looks good. If its going to leak then it will do it when the water gets to its hottest. If you leave the engine running when you come back from a drive the radiator water will heat up a lot more until the fan comes on. Leave it for a few minutes after the fan comes on and if there are no leaks...

    overheating

There is certainly no harm in giving it a go. I have known radweld to seal a hole in a hearer matrix which was big enough to drain out the water without even the system being pressurised.

If you dont have any lock at the scrapyard then you could also check Euro Car Parts and GSF Car parts. Both have websites and lots of shops around the country.

A new or second hand radiator is the best bet. Due to the fins they can't really be welded and it sounds like the hole is a bit big for radweld to work.

What you suggest will be fine. As far as filling there are two ways the expansion tank can be connected. One way has an additional host from the top of the bottle to the radiator. With this setup you just top up the expansion tank and it all runs through. With the other method as the engine...

    overheating

Depends how much money you want to spend. You could just top it up with antifreeze solution and then see how it goes. If you dont know what the stuff is like in there already then mix the new stuff in accordance with its instructions for 'severe winter' and that way it will be better that what...

Fiesta 1.25 zetec misfiring / juddering on accelaration

I wonder if there is any make which doesnt have an issue with coil packs (of the ones which use them of course). My mothers Renault has had one go and my Audi recently had all four changed.

Below the lower line is not too bad and it should be fine. If its too low then you stop getting oil circulation which causes the engine to wear out very quickly.. Its unlikely to be related to the water leak. 1 litre of oil is normally required to bring the level from the min to max mark so...

    overheating

What car is it? Some BMWs have a metal radiator with plastic sides and these are well known to crack and leak when the car gets old. If the head gasget was gone then you would either have white smoke coming from the exhaust (water leaking into the cylinder) or white deposits in teh oil (check...

    Plasma switches itself off

You said "for your local power supply" which implies the local mains feed. If you had said the power supply output voltage it would have made it clearer for everyone. A underused switchmode power supply wont cause the capacitors to dry out. A switchmode pules current into a capacitor to keep...

    Plasma switches itself off

I explained in the first paragraph. It was the comment about the power supply needing adjustment I disagreed with not the fact that the power supply was faulty.

Internet - router to RJ45 data grid socket

Correct. The tight twisting helps ensure any interference affects both wires so when the difference is detected at the other end the interference cancels out. Pins 1&2 and 3&5 are used for 100mbps. If you use gigabit or POE (power over ethernet) then the other two pairs are used aswell. If...

Fiesta 1.25 zetec misfiring / juddering on accelaration

It could be the MAF. However as it happened the same time the exhaust was replaced I would personally suspect the lambda sensor as it can cause the same fault. It screws into the exhaust and monitors the exhaust gas to help the ecu maintain the correct mixture.

    Twin spark engines

I know on VAG cars the ECU monitors the voltage to each coil pack so it can detect if one fails or shorts out. On a twin spark it might just log the fault but not light up the engine management light. It depends if the engine is capable of working perfectly well with just one.

Internet - router to RJ45 data grid socket

http://www.amazon.co.uk/KRONE-Type-Punch-Telephone-Insertion/dp/B000Q84THG The RJ45 socket is normally marked with the colours of the wires which should be connected to them so fairly easy to follow. Try to keep the wire pairs twisted together as close as you can to the socket as it stops...

    Plasma switches itself off

Utter ******. Switch mode power supplies are very resilient to variation in input voltage and there would be nothing you could adjust in them. Many power supplies even work from 100 to 250v although higher power versions tend to come in two versions but thats mainly so the transformer used...

SEAT clocks replaced how do I keycode them

VW, Audi, Seat, and Skoda are all known as the VAG series of cars. You need to either take it to a dealer so they can use their VAG-COM software or find someone who has the 3rd party VCDS software (http://www.ross-tech.com/products.html) who can do it for you. Asking in one of Seat car forums...

    AV wiring question

The normal guideline when running network cables is that it is perfectly fine for the network cable to cross the power cables at 90 degrees even if they are practically touching. If the network cables are running parallel then there should be a few cm gap between them. If you have to run mains...

    AV wiring question

With network cables stick with unshielded. You only want shielded in a few cases such as you are pushing the 100m maximum cable length, its located in a very high electrical noise area such as a machine shop or its a high security area. Solid cable should be used for fixed wiring as its the...
