On the back of someone else's post, I've just drilled both sides with a 1.5mm drill, then glued the drill in to each plastic piece and used a soldering iron to "plastic weld" the join. It's not quite straight but hoping straight enough. Glues curing for 24 hours then I'll refit. Fingers crossed...
