central heating rads on the blink

You say it 'sounds like' its blowing bubles into the header tank. Have you actually checked to see if it is doing that, rather than it pumping over ? If it is doing what it 'sounds like' then I'll leave it to others here to help, but if it is actually over pumping, then you may want to read this...

    help

No, but, a tip. When I and others come here to see if we can help someone, we don't have time to open up every item and read it. We select, from the Subject line, those that we think we may know something about. So you may get a better response by putting some concise information in the...

    Cold upstairs

Rads cold at bottom usually means sludge, rads cold at top usually means air so it sounded promising that you had air coming out of the rads, but bad that it wasn't followed by water, but, that also explains why they are not getting hot. So, why no water flow in upstairs rads.. Have you...

Bosch motor click with new Carson brushes

jj4091 is probably correct. If you want to bed the brushes in quicker you can put a piece of emery paper round half the comm between it and a brush, rough side out on the brush and work it back and forth so that the brush is slightly ground away to take the shape of the comm and same again on...

If its the version with the touch sensitive buttons on the top of the door on the inside, then open the door and check if there is an error indicated on the screen beside the buttons as when there is an error it stays switched on to give you the chance to see what the error is.

Quiet vs noisy bathroom light pull switch

My new (3 years ago) bathroom light pull switches are very noisy and there are many old threads here enquiring after quiet switches. Well, here is some information. I can't verify it as I haven't ordered them yet but found another forum where these were suggested as the quietest on the market...

    Wasps

I can only comment from my own experience which was that wasps colonised the old nest from the previous year. Cleared it out after they had finished with it, sealed up the hole they had come in through and problems solved.

    Wasps

What foxhole says is true, but, when they start looking for nest sites next year any of them may find their way back in. So, you also need to find out how they got in and block it up.

    Earth bonding on plastic pipes

Hi, I re-plumbed a bathroom sink in zone 2 using plastic pipes up to the tap. I understand (I think) that this tap doesn't need bonding. Is there something specific that should be done with the earth bonding cable from the old copper pipes ? Many thanks in advance.

Powerflusher changed direction of CH pump: which is right?

As already stated you are constantly oxygenating the water which will lead to corosion (C/H inhibitor solutions work by removing the oxygen from the water), wasting your money and condensation and damp in the area of the tank. Read my update here on the first steps to take for fixing this...

    Advice on boiler quotes please

Don't have the condensate pipe run outside, if it freezes in the winter your boiler won't work. Make sure your flush (agree you need it) will be a proper power flush using a reversible power flush pump (temporarily put in place of your pump to do the power flush) as I had some quotes and when...

Indesit WD12S washer dryer front fascia disassembly

Been some years since I did this so my memory is not great, but, it was either push fit (small plastic lugs) or screws. The thing I deffo remember is that the round switches on the front also hold it on so the first thing to take off are those. They pull of their spindle and push back on again...

    Potterton Netaheat Profile boiler tripping

Can't comment on your update alan but can update you on my situation. I Gave up and decided on a new boiler, hence will not know if some of the boiler components were dodgy or had been installed incorrectly. In addition to those symptoms, in the final days the boiler overheat trip would...

Bosch washer - door stuck closed

On the front bottom right is the pump housing cover. Open this, it hinges downward and can then be pulled off the machine completely. Inside there on the right hand side you should see a red tag hanging down. This is the emergency door release tag and needs to be pulled down (pliers needed)...
