The Ls must be connected together, the Ns must be connected together and the Es must be connected together. Any suitable connector may be used. The Es can go in the back box E terminal.

Usually won't work at all like that. Whatever else it might do the LS becoming live turns it on.

Yes, your diagram is correct. It has recently been made against the regulations to use the earth wire as a live conductor but it was not when installed. It would be good to sleeve it brown but it doesn't really make much difference.

Are you sure that the FEED cable is Line(live) and Neutral and not the more usual Line(live) and Switched live?

The OP's wiring does not have a permanent live. Both L and LS must have power when switched on otherwise the fan won't run at all.

Do you mean RCD or MCB? Likely to be wet then. That could cause an RCD to trip. Ok. :) Let us know how if it stops the tripping.

To do what you want you will have to replace the switches with "two-way switches" and run a "3-core+earth" cable from one switch to the other.

It is not clear from your description what you have done. Pictures of the switches wiring please.
