All sorted now. The plumber who quoted £200 was told to take a hike. New valve fitted and some Fernox put into the heating system, the rads get hot a lot quicker and are a lot hotter.

Plumber coming tomorrow to look at it he said its a days work to replace it as the system needs drained down below the valve? his phone quote was £200

Can this be fixed or does the whole lot need replaced?

The old pump was a Wilo Gold i think, it was approx 20 years old, think it was set to number 3, only one radiator has a thermostatic valve which is in the living room, should have maybe also mentioned there is a room stat in the living room also.

Had to get a new pump fitted on the central heating / hot water system and the plumber fitted a new Wilo Yonos pump, but when he left he had the red turn knob on the pump set to the bleed function, i would never had know this only we where getting this surging noise and thought i would...

That is not the actual bleed screw, i have only tried a bleed screw tool...

The radiator bleed screw has rounded and now i cannot get it loose to remove air from the radiator, how can i get the screw loose and can you get replacement screws, its like the one in the link below

Update. Plumber called and he thought the motorized valve was stuck, so he used the little paddle to open it manually, he said that you rads will warm up now so we where talking for a while and he said i will check the rads now but they where only lukewarm so he checked the pump and he...

Just had a mate who is an electrician check all the electrical bits on the system, room stat clock and he even checked to see if the pump was working, all were working fine but he thinks the motorized valve is shot, he could not look at it as its down the side of the fireplace which is inside a...
