    On a lot of dimmer switches you can remove the actual electronic part in the back. So if you have matching face plates don't worry Had to change one in a double dimmer switch once when installed new led lights Just Google search for a dimmer switch compatible with leds.

    The sand pushes the sand up around it once all blocks are in place the sand can't push up the blocks next to it so it had no where to go. The blocks sorta hold the sand down if you get what I mean

    My fabricator when doing lugs like this takes the span to the center of the steels. Lucky for me the first time I needed a steel like this the other end rested on a wall. I always order an extra bit as to take of a chunk off once everything is built if ordering before.
