    Blackcircles : on-line tyre purchases

Hi All Just asking if you have ever dealt with this company and what your experiences were ? I did this winter and things were not great. A short resumé of my experiences. 1) Ordered some unusual winter tyres - Nokian brand - computer said in stock and I ordered 2) Next day someone calls me...

    vibration/wobble

I had exactly the same experience with a tyre fitted at KwikFit and for some reason I didn't make the instinctive jump to link the two: maybe there was other work done at the same time, but not by them I hasten to add. When I returned it, they tried to charge me for a couple of hundred miles...

    Oil leak.

Take care - they break easily ( especially when using your favoured tools :) )

    Replacement Battery

My experience with o.e. or major-branded batteries is they last 7 - 10 years, so to that extent the minimum guarantee period is irrelevant I have no experience of other non-branded makes, but would tend to think they will not be so long-lived because : 1) unlike some products /brands (Nike...

    Mains Tyre Inflation

Yes- you should change your name to footpump_masochist ( unless, of course, you saw without using the motor which would be really hard-core :giggle:)

    Bitten the hybrid bullet!

Cat apart, what about all the other components in the system (valves, oil, exhaust ) that are going to be affected by very short spurts of combustion and the engine never really getting above ambient temperature ?

    Used Car Spec

Well, my comment may have been pointed, but did you feel disrespected ?

    Used Car Spec

Well that was a storm in the proverbial teacup . Sonic 70, do you go around complaining that not all the goods in Poundshops are not all one pound ?

Electric theft by EV owners causing charge points to be switched off.

Either they believe that this somehow binds you tightly to their system ...or... they are these dopey nerds for whom the "app" is the Holy Grail and getting people to download it, is more important than actually selling them power at a profit

Tesla slashes prices to shift unwanted cars

Don't have such a thing in Germany.

Clarification on 2t engine compression and when cylinder need replacement if scored

At the moment nothing. It isn't going to be this score stopping the engine starting and I greatly doubt it will have any effect when it does run. Do what Mottie said about carb and fuel.

Tesla slashes prices to shift unwanted cars

A German has driven 1 700 000 km in eight years in his Tesla Model S P85 but says his next e-car won't be a Tesla. He has had 13 motors replaced ( under eight-year warranty ) but says that nothing has been changed on the motors - no improvements - and there has never been any communication...

    Zamak / Zamac re-chroming

Also used to be called "muck-metal". Used for high-volume components ( therefore suitable for injection-moulding )that take no load.

Tesla slashes prices to shift unwanted cars

Really ? I thought all cells were "welded" into one big lump, which would make that impossible.

Seat Alhambra cut out and will not start

Might be wort buying a cheap boroscope to have a look at the piston crowns to see if any impact damage. That would confirm/eliminate the greatest possible problem.

Tesla slashes prices to shift unwanted cars

Good comparison Freddy, although I think that the customer-service and quality would be a hell of a lot worse -and they'd be ringing you up twice a week asking for donations, or offering the wonderful chance to buy a Trump NFT.

    Dashcams

I was looking at this the other day: the concentration is on how clear the image is, principally if it will allow clear reading of number plates. If you want to go into in more depth, it gives some detail about how few manufacturers there are of the key components and which components may...

    Dash warning-lights - MOT fail

Hi On another forum, one poster claimed the following. "In U.K., any wrongly illuminated dash warning light can now result in an MOT test failure." Is that correct, that a yellow warning-light will be a fail ? The actual discussion was about TPMS, so a second question would be if these are...

Forms of transport, what are the alternatives.

I know Germany well and read the German press every day, but have never seen a picture/reference to this, which - given Germany's keenness on reducing car usage - would be strange. Do you have any photos/direct references to this ?
