No, no. They have announced their INTENT to introduce it .......................in 18 months. The 500e is built in the Mirafiori plant in Turin, and a job-guarantee contract runs out in December. Stellantis also has disastrous sales figures with Jeep, Dodge and Ram in the USA down to very poor...

    Oil Filters

Gosh - never heard of that. I guess it will be multo expensive unless your deal includes servicing costs.

    Oil Filters

Unsure how you are going to manage that. This info isn't published and manufacturers usually ( always ) insist suppliers remove any identifying marks except those required by purchaser for QA purposes.

When the dealer says "part exchange to clear"

Just a "come-on" like the nonsensical "first-to-see will buy ". No effect on legal rights.

    Oil Filters

What do you recommend , John ? I agree that these 15 000/20 000 manufacturer intervals are ridiculous, but would you drop to 5 000*/ 1 year as some internet sites ( Scotty Kilmer ) say are what's needed ? He doesn't directly state it, but think that's for town -driving, as he also often comments...

Ford KA - could anybody please list EVERYTHING I'd need to change brake pads?

Always remember my anger when I was changing brake-discs for the first time ( some long years ago ) and found that I neeeded a hex-key in a socket to continue, and Haynes just spoke about "undo fastenings " Really ****ed off as it was about 16:00 on a Saturday afternoon in October and Halfords (...

    Is it safe to drive?

I have had this happen to me several times with my Vectra and whilst several of the clips along the bonnet-line have broken , there remain several unbroken which I have pushed back into position. You can use self-tapping screws ( maybe with large washers ) in most places. Following the first...

Vehicles reporting data back to base

Possibly, but I'm sure it would be completely illegal as you would have modified all the protocols incorporated into the homologation, as well, of course, as having to find ways to duplicate the control;s of the ECU and other computer modules. Probaly more work than just a few quiet winter nights.

Vehicles reporting data back to base

I would guess that they are very much at the forefront. BMW has had a reputation for decades for being very geeky and wishing to push ahead with electronics.

    Squeaking from front right tire

Good example of when distinguishing between "brake" and "break" correctly, does make a big difference in meaning.

    Tesla magic running low

I was reading an article in a German magazine last week which reports that Tesla is storing thousands of cars on disused airfields as there is no more space at its Brandenburg Gigafactory. What puzzles me here is that, for lots of years now, car companies in general have claimed to only produce...

    Dent in Plastic Bumper

That crease is permanent until positive action is taken to re-form it.

    Dent in Plastic Bumper

The bumper is made of ABS and the material will become very "plastic" under a hot-air gun ( if you can apply it from the rear). An approximate repair should be easy, but the material will be stretched and you will also lose any texturing on the surface ( seeming a very fine texture ). I don't...

    Plastic headlight protection coating

I don't like the idea of using abrasives - even if very fine - as I fear a foul-up. This is the only method I have seen on YT.
