    Sounds like those two rads and there pipework have not been flushed. What type of flush and amount of time spent flushing will depend on your systems condition. Have they installed a system filter? are there cleaner and inhibitor stickers on the front of the boiler?

    flexi tile addey can be used. dont use ply on the floors, use cement board like hardi or no more ply. could use tile matting if the sub floor is solid enough.

    if the pipework is being notched into the joists then they will be a good distance from the part of the joist the sparks is allowed to drill for his cables but its still probably better to do the plumbing first imo.

    the boilers good. for free its great. make sure the quality of the install is checked as these scheemes tend to have very poor quality work. Companies thend to have the atitude of its free for you so you should be happy even when the works really bad.

    apart from giving the appliance its min flow rate (which the internal one may do) fitting one on the system correctly reduces system pressures, reduces noise, increases efficiency and allows the appliance to circulate heat away from itself on over run.

    is gas pipe live? is gas pipe sized correctly for new hob? are clearences and ventilation ok (gas regs require certain things an electric hob wont), is a heat barrier needed between hob and draws? theres alot to consider, a straight swap gas for gas with no major alterations would be 45-60...

    what stop tap was it? assuming by brass it was a compression? best to use a copper insert, tighten up, remove and ptfe the olive a few wraps and refit.
