Been painting over wallpaper and having trouble?

Definitely caused by cutting in the whole wall which is slower due to the knobbly pattern, I would have a 4" inch mini microfiber roller and soon as I cut in a area I would roll over it.

How to cover/remove stenciled paint off wall

Very hard to see in the picture the problem, but a very good rub down would be the way to go, Zinserr paint isn't going to help cover the lines, they are ridges and will need sanding down to a flat surface. Most paints are the same thickness so thats out, if you cant sand out the lines, paper...

Dilux diamond Matt - blue blobs

Wow 2 years old paint, surprised it wasn't rock hard, the blue lumps are just what is added when paint is mixed up. I only keep and use paint up to 6 months. Dulux Diamond Matt is hard enough to put when just bought ie stick and dries quickly would love to know what 2 year old paint was like ?

I would use Crown clean extreme rather than Dulux diamond matt I find Diamond matt too sticky, and clean extreme will be slightly cheaper but this is just my opinion.

Painting and papering on new plaster

You need to size the new plaster on the wall you are going to paper. You need to apply a mist coat of emulsion to the walls you are going to paint, and thirdly dont use one coat paint thats the lowest of lows, apply 2 coats of good quality trade paint over the mist coated walls.

I go behind plasterers on so many jobs and there's hair line cracks on ceilings and walls and always where the board meets, some of the times they haven't put enough screws in and some I have cut open and there inst any scrim tape over the join, I personally would mist coat the wall and then...

preparing window frames for finish coats

If you want to get it all finished in a day you wont be using oil based paints because of drying times, putting on too many coats in 1 day is wrong, they should be cleaned down, filled, rubbed down, 2 oil based undercoats and 1 oil base gloss. Water based paints are in my opinion rubbish, show...

Polyfilla is dreadful stuff now it was good when I started as a Painter and Decorator 33 years ago, now when you fill with it , it feels like rubbing down tile adhesive, like above Toupret is fantastic, not cheap but you get what you pay for
